LOST RECIPES OF INDIA  |  PUBLICATION

Lost Recipes is about rediscovering dishes from the pages of history, reliving long-lost customs, and possibly resurrecting them. The study travels to several parts of India, from Uttar Andhra to Kutch, in pursuit of these once-popular culinary rites and traditions.
As a region that has seen substantial immigration and intermingling over millennia, India's cuisine has benefited from a variety of dietary influences. The region's diverse climate, spanning from deep tropical to alpine, has also served to significantly widen the variety of ingredients easily available to India's many culinary schools. Food has been a hallmark of religious and social identity in various contexts, with varying taboos and preferences.

CONCEPT

This book features all of the vintage recipes from 16 Indian states that have lost its significance over time.

The goal is to bring these ancient dishes back to life and teach people about their history, culture, and rich ancestry.
The recipe b
ook is designed to assist human ergonomics; hence, the format of the book converts into a

book stand while cooking as well as a normal book when not in use, so that when a person cooks, he or she does not need to glance down and there is no worry of spilling spices or water on the book.
